PRIVACY POLICY
I. Privacy
Privacy Statement
Local Initiatives Support Corporation® (LISC®) recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of your personal information. As an interactive publication and distance-learning tool of LISC, this website (www.opportunityinvestmentconsortium.com) may collect information about the people using it; however, to the extent this site collects personal information, it will adhere to the following privacy policy. By using LISC’s website, you are accepting the practices described in this policy. LISC reserves the right to modify its privacy policy periodically, including without limitation as may be needed to reflect changes in site content and services.
Information Collected by LISC - If you are only accessing LISC’s general website, we do not collect any personal (user) information. However, the LISC Online Resource Library and several of LISC’s field office sub-sites like this one do collect limited personal identifiable and demographic information (such as, the individual’s name, email address, and name and description of the organization you work for or are affiliated with). By registering and/or submitting personal information to LISC, you are also agreeing to the use of this information in accordance with this privacy policy. Your personal information is not used for other purposes, unless we obtain your permission, or unless otherwise required or permitted by law.
Email Notifications - Visitors to the LISC Online Resource Library and to some of LISC’s field office sub-sites such as this one have the option of receiving email event announcements, newsletters, or surveys that are relevant to their interests and professional affiliations within the community development field by indicating their subscription preferences. Users of these sections of our site, that no longer wish to receive email notifications from LISC, have the option of removing themselves from our mailing lists.
Disclosure of Information - Any personal information collected by LISC is disclosed only on an aggregated basis, to provide demographic data to funders and other interested stakeholders that require such information, and to guide site content enhancement. Other than to respond to communications initiated by individual users, or as otherwise consented to or subscribed by individual users, and as otherwise necessary to ensure an appropriate level of accountability during online discussions and events, personal information will not be used to identify individual users, nor will it be distributed to other organizations to be used for commercial purposes.
Cookies - In order to improve your experience on LISC’s website and tailor content to your interests, the Online Resource Library and some of LISC’s field office sub-sites use cookies (elements of data that a website can send to your browser and store in your system). You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie and choose whether to accept or refuse it. You can also set your browser to refuse all cookies. However, you will not be able to access these areas of LISC’s website if you do not accept cookies coming from LISC.
LISC takes reasonable steps to protect the security of our servers, including implementation of appropriate security measures.
Access - If you have submitted personal information to LISC, under most circumstances you have the right to reasonable access to that data to correct any inaccuracies. You can also make a request to update or remove information about you by contacting enews@lisc.org, and we will make all reasonable and practical efforts to comply with your request, so long as it is consistent with applicable law.
Information Security and Integrity - LISC and our service providers have security policies and procedures in place to help protect personal information from unauthorized loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Despite LISC’s efforts, however, security cannot be guaranteed against all threats. We seek to limit access to your personal information to those who have a need to know. Those individuals who have access to the data are required to maintain the confidentiality of such information. We also make efforts to retain personal information only for so long as the information is needed for our professional, marketing or analytic purposes, or necessary to comply with an individual’s request, or until that person asks that the information be deleted.
II. Web Linkage
Linking to external websites through www.lisc.org
On certain web pages on LISC’s website, there are links directing you to other organizations. Once you open one of these links, a separate browser window will open, taking you to an external (third-party) website. Once on an external site, you are no longer governed by LISC’s privacy policy, and should be aware of the privacy policy of the site that you are visiting.
Linking to www.lisc.org - LISC welcomes links to its website. If you want to link to LISC’s website, you may do so, however, by establishing a link to LISC’s website, you’ll be deemed to have agreed to the following link conditions:

You are granted by LISC a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the LISC name, LISC logo and LISC tag line ("Helping Neighbors Build Communities") - all of which are protected marks, registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office - solely for the purpose of linking your website to LISC’s website. You may not use any of LISC’s (or LISC’s affiliates’) service marks for any other purpose. This license may be terminated at any time in LISC’s sole discretion, at which time you agree to remove all links to LISC’s website and cease using any of LISC’s service mark accordingly.
-
You acknowledge that all rights to said service marks, any website content, and the appearance of the website belong to LISC and, to the extent applicable, to its third party licensors. If you link to LISC’s website, you may not (1) create frames around LISC’s website or alter the visual presentation of LISC’s website, (2) imply that LISC is endorsing you or your products or services, (3) imply an affiliation between your organization and LISC without LISC’s prior written consent, (4) misrepresent your relationship with LISC or present false or misleading impressions about LISC’s activities, publications, programs or services.
-
LISC may amend the link conditions at any time and you agree to abide by the terms of all such amended conditions.
